Today called in at Prem Radakishun’s show in radio1. That was a rare occasion, I mean I seldom make a call in talk radio, and hundreds of callers are there. I must have been one of the few to be called back. Good experience. I could give a good opposition to his opinion that all subsidized religious broadcast orgs should be cut from government funds. Well, it’s true. Times are rough with Greece almost bankrupt and us having to cut more than 18 bn EUR. So every penny should be weighed. But pennywise, pound foolish. Why throw away all the diversity and different voices on tv and radio? If let’s say RKK would be merged in KRO all the special catholic programs would disappear. KRO has to listen much more to the general public’s wants and hence make shows and feelgood tv. It’s already so much like the commercials already. There should be room for exactly the quality programs that are not only dependent on numbers or money it generates. That is the niche of those rkk like clubs. That is the point.
